freezer cooking day

By lunch time you're counting the minutes until bedtime. Make that seconds. That was my day today. They don't happen often, but when they do, yuck. I think it's PMS. TMI? The Joy of Cooking…or NOT.

What to Cook When You Don't Feel Like Cooking

I came to a realization today. I don’t like to cook. I could almost cry just writing that. I want to like to cook. Buckwheat Buttermilk Pancakes

Buckwheat Pancakes

I have, for as long as I can remember, LOVED buckwheat pancakes. I've decided that my affinity is genetic, passed down from my mom. Either that or I must have had mature tastebuds that led me to love this hearty, nutty grain at such a young age. Most likely? It was the maple syrup. I still love maple syrup and one of my favorite new ways to eat it is over these delicious buckwheat pancakes.  Did you know that buckwheat does not actually contain wheat?  That means that these are the perfect gluten-free breakfast! I do love a good bulleted list, so let me break down all of the reasons I adore ... continue reading...

We started school last week! The excitement level ranges from euphoric to resigned, in direct correlation to the ages of my children. With the youngest, of course, being the most excited. I love that the little ones are so excited. Now if I could just figure out a way to harness that excitement and pass it along to my 5th grader. If I figure it out I'll let you know.
