Interview with a 4th grader {Top 10 Chapter Book Picks}

I sat down with my 4th grader to interview her about her favorite books. Here are the books she listed as her ALL-TIME faves!

Who doesn’t love a good list? Or a good book!? I thought it would be fun to sit down with my 4th grader and get her opinion on what the very best chapter books are. It was so enlightening! Since she reads like a fish swims, I was not sure what she would say her top picks were. I found out that my girl has an eye for adventure!

Here is what she said, in no particular order:

Daniel Boone – I knew this one would be a favorite. She has read it at least three times! Check out other books by Augusta Stevenson too! We love the whole Childhood of Famous Americans series.

The Indian in the Cupboard – Also read multiple times. She is looking forward to reading the rest of the series!

The Matchlock Gun – my girl is a budding history buff! You won’t find me complaining about that!

Black Beauty – Like many 9-year-old girls, my sweetie-pie love horses. So it comes as no surprise that Black Beauty would be a hit.

Misty of Chincoteague – Another big surprise here;-) Miss C has enjoyed many other Marguerite Henry books as well.

The Boxcar Children – This series is great. We have focused on books 1-19, which were written by the original author.

Robinson Crusoe – this one must also feed her love of adventure:-)

The Sign of the Beaver – I remember reading this one as a kid. I love that she enjoyed it as well.

Chronicles of Narnia – C just finished reading this series and gave it 2 thumbs up!

Little House on the Prairie – Is it cheating to include another series? The Little House books are classic favorites. She listened to the audio books before she could read and has now read through the whole series on her own.

I love that my daughter loves to read. She would have her nose stuck in a book all day if she could. I can totally relate! Happy reading!
